Case Background: A Medium-Sized Kitchen Cabinet Distributor in the United States

Company Type: Wholesale Distributor of Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinets

Stored Products: Cabinet bodies of various sizes, door panels, hardware, countertops, etc. Each cabinet typically weighs between 50kg and 200kg.

Heavy-Duty Racking Solution (Core: Industrial-Grade Beam Racking)

1. Racking System Selection and Configuration

Main System: Heavy-Duty Beam Racking

Upright Specifications: 90mm x 70mm or 110mm x 70mm heavy-duty cold-rolled steel uprights (selectable based on shelf load and height), with standard US hole patterns (e.g., teardrop holes).

Beam Specifications: Double-welded beams, specifications such as 3" x 1.5" x 12ga (or higher), with custom lengths based on pallet/cargo dimensions.

Shelf Load Capacity: 2,000 lbs - 5,000 lbs (approximately 900 kg - 2,270 kg) per shelf, fully capable of handling stacked cabinets or heavy accessories.

Adjustable Shelf Height: 75mm or 50mm slot spacing allows for flexible accommodation of cabinets of varying heights (e.g., separate storage for floor cabinets, tall cabinets, and wall cabinets).

Aisle Width: Determined by handling equipment. Forklifts typically require 11-13 feet for main aisles; this can be reduced to 6-8 feet with narrow-aisle equipment.

Special Considerations:

Shelf/Support Bars: Steel shelves or dense wire mesh should be placed on crossbars to prevent small accessories from falling and provide a flat support surface to protect the cabinet bottoms.

Guardrails/Guardrails: Heavy-duty guardrails and upright guardrails should be installed at aisle ends and in high-traffic areas to prevent forklift impacts and damage to the rack structure.

Back/Channel Pull Bars: Increase overall system stability, especially at high locations (>6 meters).
